DESCRIPTION
Murray Greys are a relatively new breed that adapt to diverse climate conditions, and are known for their high-quality meat production. But their value is in cross-breeding. Murray Greys can produce a medium animal with eye muscle area, meat color, meat yield, fat depth, tenderness and taste, which all means quality.
Ballee Thumbs Up has sired, from a South Devon dam, a heifer that scored second in New Zealand's “Steak of Origin” tenderness and taste competition, from more than 100 entries. His daughters have won at 2003-2004 shows, although he himself is unshorn, due to a shift of property. His stock are very pleasing and, like him, need little to keep them in top condition. He is 2 on the Genestar test.
